I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend! I just wanted to share a few updates of what's been going on in room 414!
On Friday, we earned the BRONZE PAW! We earned this by getting 25 compliments from other teachers and staff in our school! Our classroom goal was to get the Bronze Paw before track out, and boy did we! On Thursday we had a special guest! Mr. Jay, friends of Dylan's family, came and taught us some songs from around the world! We learned songs from countries we have been reading about, like Afghanistan, and New Guinea! We also heard songs from Canada and Australia- where some of our students are from! The Caribbean song, Mango Tree, was a classroom favorite! Mr. Jay not only sang us songs, he taught us great lessons behind the songs, played his guitar and drum, and also brought instruments for us to use too! I think the whole hall got to hear some of the fun! ;) Check out our class twitter account for videos! We all made thank you cards to mail to Mr. Jay. Thank you to Dylan's mom for setting this up for us! Ms. Shipley has been visiting our class this past week to teach us to lift weights with our brain! She is helping us prepare for the IOWA and COGAT assessments that we will take after track out. Our classroom has been blessed with some AWESOME donations from YOU all! Thank you SO much for donating! Looking forward to a fantastic week! -Mrs. Sigmon Not only have we survived week 1 of 3rd grade, we've THRIVED! I am SO incredibly proud of this class, and it's amazing to see their growth since when I had (most of) them in 1st grade.
I am excited for our year together! Take some time to look around on the class website. There is a tab for our class schedule, specials schedule, resources, and an all about me section.
If you have any questions, contact me at [email protected]. I'm looking forward to an AWESOME year! -Mrs. Sigmon |
